Latest User Reviews:AdequateThis program is a simple solution for finally being able to view MS Project files sent by coworkers. Thanks a lot for your review. If possible please let us know your suggestions on how to improve our product. Thanks in advance, Pankaja It didn`t workSee title. It would not open an mpp file. Not able to open the MPP fileMPP file did not open when Project Planner Reader is used. I even tried converting it to PPR file but still could not open the converted PPR file. Could not open MPP fileI could not open the MPP file using Project Plnaner Reader. I even tried converting it to PPR but still no luck. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. The problem exists in 'mpp2pprdll.dll' and 'ConvertToReader.dll' on your system. Please find the corrected dlls at the link, http://www.smartworks.us/patches/mpp2pprdll.zip Download and extract the zipped file to get the 2 DLL files. Replace them with the corresponding ones on your system, in the PP Reader installation directory. Now, try converting the mpp files to ppr. Please note the following points while importing a mpp file to Project Planner Reader, 1) The current version of Reader converts the MS Project files that are created from MS Project 2000 and above only. 2) The resource ids should not contain any special characters or spaces. 3) The resource id length should not exceed more than 14 characters. 4) There should not be any blank lines between the project tasks.i.e. the task names should not be empty 5) The current version of PP Reader does not launch the MS Project files by double clicking on them. The PP Reader should be opened first to read the MS Project files. Thank you in advance for your co-operation. Regards No ReviewAfter additional reading about my problem, I arrived at a decision that did not use Smartworks Project planner reader. Nice straightforward toolI found the Project Planner Reader to be simple to use, and it provided good basic presentation of MS Project plans. The best feature was the graphs of work - this was easier to use than MS Project itself. needed to view mpp filesI haven't used the product in earnest, but when I launched it I could see the plans I wanted to see Opinion.I'll give you some feedback. After I loaded this it worked great. In fact I was surprised at what I could do with just a reader. However, the problem exhibited itself the next morning when I came into work to find that my system wouldn't boot. Turns out that the install wiped out my MS Windows License information and then it wouldn't boot or allow anyone to login with out the system just logging them out immediately. I had to rebuild the whole system and this takes about 2 days of work to get it back to the way I use it. I don't mind telling you that it's sure a good thing that I could get my hands on you. Project Planner ReaderHaven't really used it other than to read MS Project files. Works very well and is easy to use. can`t tell yet...First of all, I appreciate you providing a freeware reader -- I shouldn't have to pay hundreds of dollars just to view schedules. Minimal Comments Minimal Use So FarDownload and installation were smooth. I like the way the system comes on softly. Have not used enough to comment on overall feel. But would like, if possible for the program to ask to become the default program for file extensions it services ( like .mpp ) It would save a step and makes sense since users would not be downloading it if it was not to be used. Otherswise, so far so good. More later. Smartworks - Project Planner ReaderI downloaded the Project Planner Reader to review some Microsoft Project files created in Project version 2003. I do not have Project on my mobile PC. It did a good job in presenting the information and because of the way it translated the file I was able to point out some issues in the scheduling and gantt chart that were not readily seen when reviewing the same file in Microsoft Project. I had some problems adapting to the way dates were presented due to the day preceeding the month. Overall, I was quite happy with what the software was able to deliver. It surpassed my expectation.
